How do I get started? |
|
| |
-
Choose your
photo(s). If you have photo prints instead of digital photos, you'll
need to get the prints scanned.
If you do not have a scanner, ask your local Internet cafe or photo/copy
shop to scan your photos onto a disk/CD. Alternatively, post your prints
to the nearest
processing center. Please include a stamped self-addressed envelope
if you want your photos back.
-
Complete the
online order form and send us
your photo.
-
Wait for the
e-mail from
PayPal requesting
payment.
-
Make payment... that's it.

How long will I have to wait? |
|
| |
After payment, expect to wait about a week or so before we show you the first proof. After you give your approval
to make the final print, expect to wait about 6 business days for the
print to arrive at your doorsteps. |

| |
What is the refund policy? |
|
| |
If you cancel your order before giving your
approval to make the final print, we will refund the printing and any
shipping charges. Once you give your approval to make the final print, no
refund is available. |

At what settings
should the photos should be scanned? |
|
| |
The photos should be scanned at 300 dpi
in 24-bit color. Photos smaller than 4x6" should be scanned at 400
dpi (or higher). The scanned image must then be saved as a High-Quality
JPEG file. The size of the JPEG file should NOT exceed 5 MB.
PS. If your photo is torn, arrange the
pieces on the scanner so that none are overlapping. |

| |
Which photo should I use for a
portrait painting? |
|
| |
Always choose a photo that is sharp
(ie not out of focus) and large enough to show details that you
want seen.
Then, make sure you like the photo.
We can work off a photo that is blurry or
small but additional charges may apply (and the process will take longer).
Apart from the main photo, try sending one
additional photo (for each person). |

| |
Do all orders get accepted? |
|
| |
We will reject orders that involve photos
we deem offensive or violate copyright laws. As a rule, do not send any
photo: you did not photograph (or do not own), or is inappropriate for
public viewing. |

| |
Can I get someone else to pay
for me? |
|
| |
Yes, but ask that person to place the
order. Furthermore, the final print will only be shipped to that person. |

How are the paintings created? |
|
| |
We do not paint directly on canvas.
The painting is done on a computer. The finished artwork is printed on
real canvas using state-of-the-art EPSON archival inks and professional-class
EPSON inkjet printers. A protective coating is then applied over the
canvas for added protection against light and moisture.
Why are computers used? Computers provide
us with various competitive edges. The greatest is that it allows us
to make changes quickly and cost effectively. If we (or you for that
matter) do not like something, we can change it without having to redo
the whole artwork (or redo the whole artwork without wasting canvas and
paint). |

| |
How do I take care of the canvas? |
|
| |
-
Avoid touching the canvas surface.
-
The canvas should always be displayed
away from direct sunlight.
-
The canvas should not be displayed in a
hot/humid area (eg above an active fireplace or in the bathroom).
-
Feather dusting should be the only way of
cleaning the canvas surface. Avoid using water or cleaning agents.
